Just got back to the home terminal and in my mailbox was a notice that pay was increasing effective Oct 5! Looks like $.51/.41 Loaded/Empty, hourly rates getting 4% bump (from $15.54 to $16.16), and local work will pay a flat $20.00 per hour. Pretty sweet.

Well dropped my last load with MDS this morning and headed to the house. I will have a nice 4 day weekend before I start back with Superior on Monday the 19th.

The tm told me I only have to do 3 days training then off I go. He is putting me in a Pro Star which is fine with me. I am just glad to be back.

Finished my few days of training and safety vids. Pretty easy laid back week. Should be dispatched Monday or Tuesday at the latest. Going to run the system for now. Looking forward to it. Enjoying the weekend off for now.

Yesterday down at the terminal I was going over my truck and making sure I had everything I needed to be ready to roll next week. I guess there had been numerous complaints about the mattresses being bought and used from Mack and Peterbilt. Terminal manager even checked one out himself and said that can't be good for drivers to sleep on.

So he decided he was going to start buying mattresses from Sams Club since he could get us drivers better mattresses for cheaper than what he was paying from the stealerships. I got to be the guinea pig and get the first one. It is a Serta that has a mix of whatever they make mattresses out of plus a thick layer of foam inside. Mattress is 10.5 inches thick and it is comfy.

Thought that was really cool of him to start doing that for us.

Cool, I want one. Hopefully it's not too soft. You got a Mack or Pete, Ducky?

I have never had anything but a regular twin size mattress in my trucks. They keep some stored in the shop at High Point. Everytime I change trucks they give me a new one. They don't fit as well as the thin ones that come with the trucks and its harder to lift the lid to get under the bunk but they work fine and are much more comfortable.

Well I got a ProStar to start. Went out on my first load Tuesday and it broke down on me just north of Knoxville. Surprise, right? So I got towed and went to a hotel Tuesday night. Terminal manager rented me a car to come back in yesterday. He had a Mack sitting on the yard from a guy who was taking a leave of absence for a while so I spent today cleaning it up.

Going out tomorrow and may run the weekend depending on what Augusta terminal has for me.
