so my tractor parking valve started leaking air out of the non replaceable quick connect air line fittings.
So I called around and Freightliner wanted 242.00 for whole replacement valve.
So I started thinking about seeing if I could get it apart and replace the bad o-rings.
I ran down to harbor freight and bought a pick set to get the o-rings out.
While I was there I bought an assortment of the green high temp/ low temp o-rings also.
Here are some pics of how it went. IMG_1469.JPG IMG_1471.JPG IMG_1470.JPG IMG_1473.JPG
Everything back together and no leaks anymore.
All for less than 20.00 including the tools and a tube of lube.

Good stuff. Fixing things is becoming a lost art. Seems like everything is built to throwaway now.

I've had mine go to leaking before when I couldn't get to a place to get O-rings. I just took it apart and smeared some grease on the O-rings and put 'er back together. No leaks. Good to go.

I have often wondered if that was possible.
I bought a replacement valve a couple years back. Wasn't the same as the original. Directions said to route a hose out the back and loop around to another fitting and do something, and something and then something else.
I took it back for a refund. My valve leaks just a little sometimes. Wiggle the knobs and it stops.
I may try your solution. Thanks for posting.

Everything including the o-ring assortment can be had at harbor freight for less than $20.00

As far as I'm concerned, there's no need to spend the money on a new valve unless it physically breaks. And I've never seen one break. O-rings are easily replaced and it's good as new for a heck of a lot less money.

Upon further inspection of your pictures, my leak is from the knobs in front. Not the fittings in the rear.
    I still might try it.

silicone lube in spray can from Wal-Mart fixes quick connect leaks in 80% cases. time tested. but if o-ring is damaged bad it must be replaced.
