I didn't realize it was possible to take those fittings apart and get to the o-rings. Thanks for the tip.

The problem with mine was that the the rubber o-rings were hard as a rock and had cracks in them.
I think heat and air pressure gets to them and dries them out.

Watch what kind of sprays you use. Some will work at first but then dissolve the O-ring over time. I've found that ATF (type A) in a spray bottle works well and won't swell or melt O-rings...

I fix a lot of leaks on volvo specialy on front manifold volvo sells the o rings separate and they are the ones that are supposed to go in air lines harbor freight o rings work the only problem is they do not resist for a long time if you can actually go to a volvo dealer and buy just the orings they come in very handy just 3/8 and 1/4 you should have them in the truck they fix a lot of air leaks quicly.

I will have to see how long the harbor freight o- rings last.
The ones I got are not the standard black o-rings.
They had assortments of standard black, brown viton and green high temp/ low temp /high pressure.
I used the green high temp/ low temp high pressure ones because they were a direct match to what came out.
The green ones are used a lot in high pressure ac applications.

Have you tried the viton o-rings?
My other job is a transmission rebuilder and viton is all I will use in any of the units I build any more.
    They are quite tough.
I probably would have used the viton one this time from my shop asortment but there up in ny and I am in Florida with the transport for the winter.
What are the oem ones made of?

    Jazz1 Thanks this.

Viton is good for oil , coolant, diesel. but it will be cracked fast if you use it for hot air or hot steam environment.
