587 loaded miles into the trip on day one. We got a late start due to conflicting delivery date, but once cleared up we rolled.
Looking to get the just over 600 remaining miles done today. -
If you don't mind could you lay out superiors pay structure please. loaded, empty. hourly pay? unloading and loading pay? layover pay? extended lay over? stuff like that....
Mortarmaggot and Smut Thank this. -
Everyone is paid the same.
52 loaded, 42 empty. Hourly pay is terminal specific. I'll get the rest and more detail for you tomorrow.RogerThat72 Thanks this. -
Did 617 loaded miles today, dropped the tank at the terminal, then bobtailed to the hotel. The tank will be put on steam in the morning by the shop guys so we can pick up and then drop off product above 125 degrees at 10AM.
Sounds like our next load will be a little over 1700 mile from here into Pennsylvania. It also sounds like I get my own truck assigned after this outting. Good nightscythe08 Thanks this. -
Thanks and can you enlighten if the dexterity test is still part of physical and what that consist of please.
-
Out of what you've done so far, what % are your empty vs loaded miles? 50/50?
-
Dexterity test was super easy. If you can climb a flight if stairs or pick up 35 lbs without collapsing, you'll be fine.
So far I've pulled about 85% or better loaded. This trip I'll do over 2,000 loaded just to start. Was headed to PA but looks like that'll change to Mt Holly NC.
Unloading pay is 20, same as loading. After 2 hours you get your terminal hourly wage. Will write more up tonight.Latinstartrucker and Xeres63 Thank this. -
Spoke with Jeff, my first trainer. He put the pay information in my box, so I'll give an accurate pay update after I get back.
Spending the night in a Best Western. We are doing the run over to MT Holly NC tomorrow. Late morning pick up, which we picked, so a long night's rest before making the run.scythe08 Thanks this. -
1903 loaded miles on this trip so far. That's 5 days. Chilling in a hotel until unload Monday and then heading in to Greer. We get paid the hourly rate for our home terminal for I think 10 hours for every 24 we wait. I think that's how it goes. Still learning.
We're probably going back to Wilmington Monday after unload and then I think I get pump and air training and do some local stuff with an assigned truck. Still don't know.
Anyway, it's been fun, but it would be nice if the training was over.
I asked the trainer about this last load and he said I could do it as I wished once I get a truck. I would have called Charlotte and asked to drop for a local guy to unload Monday so I could take another load out tomorrow. 160 or 300 ish for tomorrow is how I looked at it.
