Many reports are calling them "devices" which would imply planted IED's by some sick individual. WTH is going on there?

Probably gas from abandoned coal mines.

Maybe there is some sort of gas leaching up t
That was my first thought, and this would explain mowers clicking rocks and providing the ignition source but what about the explosions at night? What is the ignition source of these other bizarre explosions? And why does the leaking gas burn not continue?

Not finding any devices, or debris from a device at any of these.

Glad I do not live anywhere near this bs. Maybe we can get lucky and the frac'ers will blow themselves to hell.

Some coal mines in PA are burning underground, similar to charcoal fires in a grill. Some have been burning for decades.
Maybe it stops after the pressure is released. Similar to methane explosions in Russia; they don't burn, but a quick explosion to release pressure, then subsides until pressure builds again.

Its too specific. Usually the explosions happen at night in the early morning hours. I think this is the act of a person or persons. That 1pm explosion was probably a failed night time one and the mower detonated it. The authorities have to know more than they are saying, but probably dont want the suspect knowing what they know. So the authorities act dumb. Stuff like tannerite has to be left behind....

Nobody lives in Centralia anymore except maybe a few crazies. That town is long abandoned and you know its a coal fire or some type of fire do to smoke coming outta the ground.

    STexan and Chinatown Thank this.

I don't know much but there should be a Military Reservation called Indian Point or something or other near where 78 and 81 meet roughly. They have been known to do some shooting big stuff now and again.

What you really want if you are on or near a mountain that started talking to you in Booms, GTFO. That means a big rock slide is pending and you are in the way. Big ol 1000 ton rock land on little you, there might not be enough to scrape up for burial besides a little hosing down.
