N14 with 13 speed. Seems to hit neutral at various speeds until you let off throttle.

Empty or loaded at various speeds. Truck seems to go into neutral and immediately the rpms rise until you let off the throttle. Will drop back down. Seems to engage again and can go. Does quite often when there is torque applied. Clutch? Transmission? Wiring? Any ideas where to start would be great

If it happens more often when you step on the throttle at higher gears yeah it’s the clutch slipping.

How much clutch free play do you have? Doesnt sound like you probably know what that means. But no offense at all ok. This would be the freeplay movement when you touch the pedal with your foot. IT should go down about 1-2"s with ease till it hits that hard point where you have to use force to push down all the way. IF there is none, chances are your clutch needs to be adjusted and you better do this ASAP!!!!!!. Takes 5 minutes to do it. IF you cant get any adjustment at all to give you that freeplay, then i would say you better get that truck in now for a new clutch.
If you are lucky enough, than its just that you have no freeplay. If thats the case and you keep driving like you are, you will toast the clutch and you will need a new one

    I’ll second the clutch job.

Good excuse to go through the box while it’s dropped, rear main seal - motor mounts -

Aww heck, just dump $50k on some mods and chrome while you’re at it and ride in style a while.

Just don’t ask for my credit card details.

    :)

    Welcome to TTR.

Some may be engaged in the problem, others fumble with technology.

It don’t matter. It’s about you. You like to help, so you’re a good thing.

Thanks for the thoughts. I’ve had several different answers than the clutch from mechanics I thought I trusted. Was just second guessing myself maybe. Pulling the tranny tonight. Should have it back going for Monday if I don’t drink too much beer
    Thank again!
