Speced weird for one state fits a niche in another state.

I understand that especially since I just ordered one. However I agree that some equipment would be useless but a whole lot more would become useful.

SAR, Oxbow and cke Thank this.

I vote we go with west coast rules - no quads or east coast boosters.....

    cke Thanks this.

East coast booster I probably agree at least nothing more than 3+1 but definitely allow quads.

    cke and SAR Thank this.

I have a little money tied up in west coast equipment and quads would severely reduce the overall amount of available loads. Not to mention rates.... just simple personal interest

    cke and Oxbow Thank this.

I understand that completely, but the idea that you can load 100,000 on 8 axles and no pilots and take that load across most of the country and can’t enter a couple states in the West is crazy. There’s plenty of benefit to you, it would eliminate the 20,000 pound states that plague you.

TripleSix, cke, SAR and 1 other person Thank this.

Hard to say what they would do - maybe establish all axles at 20k. -so I would get it from both sides. If I didn’t own a California set up - I would be ok with the idea of running a steerable quad setup like the euro guys do.

I would love to have a nitro booster to load my booster up in certain situations ...

    cke and Oxbow Thank this.

The proposal they have submitted would allow you 218,000 on 10 (if I remember right)

    SAR and Oxbow Thank this.

    Probably

    20 46 46 60 46

    Except I am a 60/40 trailer so I would max at 212000

Which is exactly The gross I used in spec’ing my tractor

And would only exceed my trailer rating by about 6000 lbs (130,000 in 12’ and day am around 76-77k empty)

Any idea what they are proposing for axle group to axle group minimum spacing? 10’ 12’ 14’ ?

    Oxbow Thanks this.

13’7” between groups and 4’6” in the group.

cke, SAR and Oxbow Thank this.
