Not sure if anyone saw this on Friday but VW’s truck division Traton is buying Navistar. I heard about it a few weeks ago and bought Navistar stock for $35 and Friday it jumped to $43 so i made a few bucks in the process. Be interesting to see how this all shakes out
Navistar is going to be bought by Volkswagen

Where do you think the LT engine comes from? -
well, tiny, little "beep-beep" horns are soon to follow.
given vw's record for "fixing" emissions rules, they might be well deserved to stock pile money for the upcoming federal lawsuits.BoxCarKidd, magoo68 and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
Where are they getting the money? They own Porche, they own Bugatti (for which they take a loss for every hyper-car sold), they own Audi, they own Lamborghini, they own Ducati
I drove a VW Golf hatch back rental coming back from orientation earlier this week...honestly, the Nissan Altima I took up to orientation was waaay better as far as performance and mpg'sBoxCarKidd, Just passing by, 650cat425 and 1 other person Thank this. -

So far VW has no influence in the day to day operation of Navistar or International that we can see at the dealer level. We understand VWs plan is to enter the North American heavy truck market and buying Navistar is how they want to accomplish that.
BoxCarKidd, Goodysnap, spsauerland and 4 others Thank this. -
When has partnering with Navistar ever worked out well? The 6.0L Powerjoke still has lawsuits against it and the CAT truck was a major flop.

IKR? Nothing like the two biggest diesel scammers getting in bed together.
Goodysnap, spsauerland and Flint1 Thank this. -
