WTF did I just read? If only there were another way to not run into stuff, other than collision mitigation devices...

Another highlight of how the trucking industry is full of morons from top to bottom. Navistar just opened the door for endless lawsuits. They literally just told every ambulance chasing dirt bag that they will roll over, without even a whimper of resistance.

I was more thinking this sets a precident that a truck that doesnt have this "safety" equipment at manufacture opens both the dealer AND owner up to lawsuits galore. Expect this crap to be mandatory from here on out for lawsuit reasons. Also expect whaaabulance chasers to use any wreck by an older truck without this crap or a truck that its not working correctly on for ANY reason to be targeted

Gonna kill a ton of loggers. I can just see that crap hammering on brakes during a turn on an icy or muddy bushroad.

    Agreed 100%.

Insurance companies will start requiring it for liability purposes. Might even see some smaller fleets and independent O/Os go out of business when they can't replace their entire fleet or pay some astronomical insurance premiums.

Of course, we'll just bend over and accept it like usual.

We should get a lawsuit started.
They’re making us drive optional nonsafe equipment.
