$120K is still TOO MUCH...
U must have a sucker sticker on your forehead...ncdriver1 Thanks this. -
Is it one of these two? Dang thay ask a lot of money for these trucks? All the way down to the junkers. Based on this guys post they must get what they are asking too? Sure are good looking trucks though.

After looking through some of the listings that's not such a bad deal. I mean you could put another 5 to 600k miles on it and still ask $70k or better? So that's like $10k for every 100k miles of use. I can't believe the prices these things pull? All you Pete guys are sittin in high cotton for sure!
A very special truck like that (low miles original) you won't be able to negotiate very little if at all? Like when the hell cats came out dealers were getting more than msrp because thay had one when they were hard to come by.
If you were looking at a lot full of used fleet freightliners then you got the power.
Good luck! -
Tug, I learned a long time ago, mileage means nothing.
For example, I drove a Western Star heavy that had 60k on the clock after 4 years and it looked great but it used oil, had issues with clutches (I drove it on its third one) and it leaked air sitting so fast that I had to wait after unloading to build up air which took only 15 minutes. I just saw the truck for sale at my WS dealer and they took it in on trade for a new one which will be beaten to hell. My sales dweeb told me that the other guy gave $31k for the truck, it is in bad shape, will need a new trans and other work and I told him that it used a lot of oil and went through clutches. I know that truck cost the company a little under $176k when it was new, it just had a hard life like most trucks.Tug Toy Thanks this. -
Like these muscle cars from the 60's getting big money? I meen they cool as hell and if I had lots of disposable income I might buy one? However my son would never pay $100k for a 69 Camaro. An old timer I know is Trying to sell a 49 Plymouth that is a very nice car. He spent boatloads on it. It has 0 interest from anyone under 70 years old.
That being said if he just has to have 379 x then it just may be worth it if it checks out? I mean I got $40k in a truck that's worth $15k or $20 so who am I to judge I guess? I got a low mileage 05 corvette in storage just rotting away as we speak. Losing value every day. -
As far as this next truck goes it will most likely be my last. I don't plan on selling until I'm done trucking, so I was willing to pay a premium. What I don't want to do is pay 180k+ for the new equivalent that may not even be as reliable. -
Every day becomes a prayerncdriver1 Thanks this. -
I don't pray. I spent a lot of money making my truck reliable. I have cash in the bank and know how to fix most anything myself. Yea it would be a bummer to break down but not something that concerns me much anymore. The simpler the truck the better chance it has to be reliable is my moto.
nax Thanks this. -
