Hello everyone, I have around 2 years experience driving locally. But I haven't driven since Jan 2018...

I've gotten a lot of calls back, but once they see I haven't driven in 2 years, it's a "no thanks"..

So what are my options to try to get hired?? Doesn't seem like many companies will take someone on without recent experience...

I'm in the Hampton roads area to FYI..

    Thanks

I think maybe Schneider might have a refresher program. I know CRST does but they will end up screwing you over so that would be a last resort. Otherwise look at craigslist for smaller companies.

Despite their reputation, Swift has been good to me and is being a decent company to drive for. Wouldn't hurt to check in with Swift and see what options they may have for you.

Thank you. I trained with them and drive for them for almost 2 years. Treated me very well during my time there.

UPS likes to hire Owner Operators and pays pretty well. They also hire on drivers. No touch freight. And you still get the health benefits.

So a newbie with 2 weeks experience in driving school will get hired and a driver with 2 yrs experience won't ?
