Need to go back to work

    Haven't driven since January due to wanting to take a break. Having trouble finding a decent company to drive for. I'm coming to the conclusion they all suck. Ten years total experience dry van. Would like a company that has decent pay and health insurance(Blue Shield or Kaiser or anything else good). No driver facing cameras. Preferably no AI on the forward facing(dashcam only), no lane departure would be a huge plus. Secure terminal or drop yard in the southern half of California. Stays in the West mostly.

    So far, companies that looked promising had big negatives like low pay and/or cameras and/or lack of any other terminals than their home base(forced to find and pay for my own hometime spot) Anyone know any decent companies?

    When you work for the man(your Boss/Company) it’s there rules, not yours. It cost them to pay you the “Benefits” so they’re going to get there monies worth from you. SoCal has many opportunities for jobs. You need to look a little harder. Food services has many. Do you have Hazmat ? That’s another plus, but most companies that pay well have everything you don’t want. PICK YOU POISON.

    10 years of experience...with a clean record...means that it's time for you to also check out opportunities within the private fleets.

    Be sure to look at:
    • Gemini Motor Transport (Love's)
    • Pilot/Flying J
    • Brenntag
    • ADM
    • Walmart
    • Nalco Water
    • Linde/Praxair
    The really great-paying gigs will require one (or more) CDL endorsements.

    I should have said I have a tanker endorsement, no hazmat.

    How many years until one becomes "entitled"? Asking for a friend...;)

    OP: Define "decent pay". What about home time? Any Moffett experience? You could probably get a local delivery gig.

    Indian River does not hire California residents last I knew. Try Skikos tanker outfit seem to be thriving on the west coast.
