Submit apps from each trucking company website; don't rely on just phone calls. Taking the time to submit the apps shows you have some initiative.
If the websites have a short app. with your contact information, just use that one instead of a full app for each company.

You gotta get experience. Go to Western Express and get started. If they are willing, go for it. Being in experienced and not having an actual gig does make it hard for you to get started. When you need to get your foot in the door, you take what you can get. Don't ever pay attention to reviews because once you get started somewhere, you'll be responsible for creating your own story. Reviews are more often than not one-sided. I got started there 17 years ago with a 17 over speeding ticket. You figure out how they do business and fit in accordingly. It won't be perfect true enough, no company ever is, but the value Western has is that they are a well known company and experience with them will get you started ok the path to more sophisticated companies.

By the way, just about everyone of those companies on your list has terrible reviews too. Every company will have those ambassadors and complainers.

 

If Western said you're hirable, then go for it.
You can stay out as long as you want with Western.

 

Also....it's been a month plus since you finished school. You don't want to wait trying to find the "perfect company." If you go too long without getting any seat time, nobody will want to hire you, not even Western.

 

Accept the offer from Western Express and make it work. If you can take care of someone with dementia for 10 years, you can make it one year with them.
