Hello just recently got my Class A have no experience but wanted to see what company would be best to work for in Southern California. I would like to try to stay local because of family but I also know that's difficult, that being said I'd like to hear what companies you guys would recommend for a newbie.

“Truck Driver” - XPO Logistics Jobs

Starting pay would be $21-$22/hr depending on which location you chose. You would reach top scale by your 4th year which is currently at $28-$29/hr.

You would start working on the dock loading/unloading trailers with a forklift. You would then drive trailers to other break bulk centers and load/unload trailers as needed, returning to your home center each day. Some runs would be up to 400-500 miles with fewer hours on the dock while other runs are considerably shorter with more hours working on the dock.

As your seniority builds you would have the opportunity to start doing local deliveries and pickups if you were so interested.

You would need doubles/triples, hazmat, and tanker endorsements for these driver positions.
