What I have noticed is that people are so passionate about "winning the argument" and, at least in this country were so raised on "spin" that our media runs on 24/7, that it's hard to get many to take an objektive look at facts. Sometimes that would require acknowledging that adversary makes a good point, and that doesn't happen. That would require reasoning and possibly even, gasp, compromise. It's Spin O Rama now. And my side has all the facts, your side is just blowing smoke.

 

I'd sure like to know how it is then even after a year of this covid crap, what with people wearing face suffocaters, washing their hands, and practicing socialist distancing, that there still can be these 'surges' in cases of covid.

Since @slow.rider isn't spelling it out for you they started development because they saw a new strain but they halted development when they realized the old vaccine was still effective enough. Halted means there will be no release.
The seat belt analogy is not perfect for this situation because a seatbelt usually protects you the user but masks and vaccines protect you and everyone else. You wear pants don't you? Why do you wear pants it's not required by the Constitution isn't it restricting your liberties? Shouldn't you be allowed to go naked anywhere you want?
