    Ok, so i don't know if this is a unique question or not but for me its a important one. What starter companies out there run only 13/18 speeds? And also, have some Pete's or K'dubs. Ready to stay out for a long time as I have no family. Just want some nice equipment to run. Thanks

    Not many, but Im sure they are out there.

    @Chinatown is our resident expert on companies. Make sure your location is in your profile so he can tell you companies in your area.

    Entry level....

    The only ones that possibly would have those type trannies would be companies like Rinauldo out of Florida and Bulldog out of SC.

    Other than that, the only people that would give a rookie a chance would possibly be some sort of cattlebaron outfit. Perhaps the resident cowpimp, @wore out would know of someone. What’s your 20, hand?

    No starter company is gonna put you in equipment like that. Get some experience and maybe you will get lucky. Many are going to automatics for this same reason, starters tearing up manual transmissions and clutches and drive lines.
    Western Express in Ontario has clean equipment but I don’t know if they hire newbies.
    CORRECTION;
    It’s Western Distribution Transportation in Ontario. (There Blue tractors.)
    Western Express is Fontana.(White tractors)

    Your 1st job probably won't offer everything you want...mostly because you likely don't know what you want. You might have a preference for certain things now that quickly disappears once you experience them first-hand, and other things you never thought you'd like will become necessary features at any new company you're considering moving to. Until you get out here and try running a variety of equipment, you really can't know what will work best for you. There's more to the job than just looking cool going down the road.

    A 13/18 is just not needed for anything these starter companies haul. And no one wants to finance a Pete with a hood just to attract fresh meat. A plastic Pete maybe, but no hood.

    I thought Western Distribution Transportation was based in Colorado? I'll have to look it up. Either way, no they don't hire newbies and their pay actually sucks unless you're doing their armed teaming division.

    Not always. There are and can be exceptions. It would be tough for me to just interview an unknown hand and turn him loose in one of mine. Regardless of experience. I like to see how they treat the competitions ride first. That said there has been some thought of grab a new guy before he has bad habits. I see your want to drive a big ride. Always keep in mind that many idiots can get put in a big ride, a top hand can drive any thing in any situation and look cool doing it
