Sounds very good and professional training. In fact that's what I heard from other truck drivers to get experience. This big companies, spend millions of dollars on training new drivers. And again, i know money comes with experience and skills, and that's why for now i don't look at the " Green ", but in learning the industry. I know once I learn, money can be made, like I did with my previous business. Thank you for your advice.

I don't want to apply, without knowing what I'm doing. As I said before, at trucking school they just teach how to pass the exam, to get the cdl. I need training, I need to learn how to operate a semi. Thank you for your advice anyway.

Excellent answer. You are on the right track. Do not rush this. Your 1st year Solo after training is the crucial learning curve you need in this business. Clock management and trip planning are the key to making money as an OTR Driver. If you are lucky, you'll get a Trainer that will set you on the right path. My trainers trip planning consisted of plugging an address into the Qualcomm and taking off. 4 years later, I have created a system that works very well. You just need to work at it. During your 1st year, concentrate on 3 things: Pick up and deliver on time, no HOS violations, and MOST IMPORTANTLY.........DO NOT HIT ANYTHING!! Those 3 things will set you up for success with practically any Trucking Company.....regardless of the name on the door of your Truck. Good luck to you.....you are in for the rude of your life!
