I been driving for two months. I just got approve for my hazmat endorsement... I'll like to drive tanker. Do anyone know a good company to apply for? I'm in the Houston Texas area. I don't want to drive OTR. I talk to Schneider but they train in manual, I believe I forgot how to drive that. But I did tested in a manual...Any suggesting on a good company because i do need the experience???

So you forgot the manual transmission,is there any reason why you don't wanna relearn? With only 2 months exp I would suggest OTR and if they only have manual so what learn it.

    Pretty sure SVTN uses automatics.(SVTN.com)
Best to call each company and ask if they have automatics.
Try these also that hire new cdl grads:
    CTL Transportation
    Tidewater Transit
    Trimac Transportation
    Superior-Carriers
    McKenzie Tank Lines
All the above have terminals in the Houston area and hire new cdl grads.

You'll need more than hazmat endorsement to pull a tanker. I'm assuming you have your tank endorsement?

With only 2 months driving experience, i suggest you stay with your current company. Changing companies too often will limit your opportunities with the good companies. Any company desperate enough to hire a new driver with multiple jobs in the last year will not pay well nor treat their drivers well.

I have friends that haul hazmat tankers right out of driving school but they only drive bobtail with no trailer and class B only. If you want local, you might consider hauling waste or recycle oil for the local companies. As for fuel , chemical and propane hauling with tractor trailer, they all wants years of experience.
