Sorry it took 2 Pretrip Polls. cant figure out why either maybe BHW or Condo or MT can straighten it out for me on the Poll. RW

Without question, backing. Hopefully I'll get more practice with this, before orientation, by getting some time on a friend's rig.

Duplicate pre-trip option removed.

I think more time with the little green book. While i have been driving for over a year and a half (not newbie but still new enough) schools and training companies dont do enough with the regs. It easier to play by the rules when you know them. Now no one except maybe gashauler know the book cover to cover and some dont apply to everyone. Tanker yankers dont need the coil securement section but everyone should know how to look up a regulation and know how to/the inturpert(ation) said reg.
Hey, maybe gashauler should start a internet course on the regs. He'd be the best one to teach it.TheRoadWarrior Thanks this. -
definitely backing. I tend to oversteer when moving the trailer over. They taught me crank hard one way and then crank hard and get under it when in reality slight turns go a long way. Practice makes perfect.

Since I could only choose one I chose dot regs. Training spent more time on learning pretrips than on the regs. Backing is slowly coming to me. Im just strait up w/ rcvrs and shippers. "Hey Im new at this. Might as well take a smoke break cause I could be a while." Most chuckle and let me have at it.

Definetly regs, so many and so many different ways to decipher them.

You forgot the "Other" option.
While we did not get as much training as I expected, I did pass the learner's permit exams the first time. Same with the state's pretrip, skills and road course.
