I'm traing a driver tomorrow how to shift a 10 speed. Just high and low. He needs a refresher since his truck is an auto. Any pointers? Downshift rpms and speeds. Upshifting should be good. It's the 9th-5th downshift I'm worried about. Ex. Highway speed to clover leaf to yield sign with no one there. Anyone have a cheat sheet with engine speeds and road speeds? Any help is appreciated

For high range, add first and last number of road speed to determine correct gear.
35mph? 3+5=8th gear will drop in. 25mph? 2+5=7th gear will drop in.
Low range - 5th gear RPM = road speed X100. Road speed 10mph? 5th gear will need to see 1000rpm to drop in.
If in doubt and confused, go for 6th. 6th will usually drop in easily between 10 and 20mph.
Don't bother shifting to low range unless you're coming to a complete stop. And even then, don't downshift through low range. Brake until you bog it down in 6th, then clutch. Shift to low range and your starting gear after you're stopped. -

See above for down shifting a 10 speed. 6 th gear , bog, stop , start all over. If doing a cloverleaf or turn onto road, slow down too 6,possibly 5 if heavy , and start working it up. If light to light then youll be doing some work, or skip it if its light enuf.
