Just a difference in opinion and a difference in circumstance, I guess.

The changes in the split sleeper berth are good. But the only other thing that really needed to be done would have been to put the current PC "guidance" into the regs. That's all of the flexibility that was needed.

Most of the rest that they say will provide "flexibility" will be abused to no end by most of the companies, dry freight and refrigerated anyway.

Drivers are going to be taking this one in their shorts.

The rules of how the split sleeper works are changing too... No more trying to figure out how many hours you have left...

After first break you have your remaining hours to use... After 2nd break you have a FULL 11 and 14 to do with how you please

Edit: I may be mistaken here... I cant find where I read that in the final rule now, maybe I mis read something. It's well over 200 pages.

30 min break as on duty? WTF kind of break is that if your working? I use my 30 min break either for lunch or a shower. I'd be willing to bet $1000 90% or more of the guys who want or like that. Are paid by the mile, and never understood the concept of more money not more miles.
    1800 miles x $2 a mile = $3600
    3000 miles x$1 a mile = $3000

Which companies do you drive for that only haul FCFS loads and never have early morning appointments? Do you just refuse any load that requires you to drive overnight or will they reschedule the appointment for later in the day no questions asked?

I think as Professional Drivers, we all want to deliver our frieght on time. If that means that I NEED to go as soon as the clock says I can, then I also WANT to go at that time. But if I dont NEED to go as soon as the clock says I can, then sometimes I dont WANT to go then either.

99% of the time what I NEED to do is also what I WANT to do. The other 1% of the time when what I NEED to do, is not what I WANT to do can usually be attributed to me not planning appropriately for something... Or an UNFORSEEN problem (weather, break down, ect.) came up.

Once TA/Petro eliminated the double points over 130 gallons and showers only lasted 7-14 days, as well as my payday being daily, I no longer want to run it nearly empty and get 220 gallons. My goal is to fuel between 75 and 100 gallons. That means nearly every day. Being able to count my fueling as opposed to having to take an additional 1/2 hour pleases me.
