Big Red-sounds like a road base material. You hauling to drilling sites? I know there is a lot of that stuff coming out of Midolotian area.
Congrats Wallbanger. You'll be fine. I"m not sure I would want to drive a tanker on ice either. But down here if we get anything it is always a layer of black ice and you got to get the heck away from everyone else or they will tag you. -
He's right, you'll need a rubber mallet. A big heavy duty rubber mallet. Those $2.00 Walmart mallets will break real quick when you start pounding the side.

Ever know me to be wrong??? -

That I need a big rubber mallet just yet.
Maybe it was just the trailer we were working with, but all i used the hammer for was to check the sound of the tank as it was emptying...just a tap to tell where the level of product was.
I do have one though. -
We're hauling cement out of Midlothian...rock out of Bridgeport and Vulcan out by where you live.
As far as the road base material goes...it's a blend of stuff that TXI is doing out of one of their concrete plants in Dallas. Supposed to be a brand new wonder material that's better than traditional road base. I'm supposed to be dedicated to the TXI deal...well, with 7 other drivers...we'll see how it works. Sounds good though.
When I was working for the construction company...we had problems with the regular road base washing out in heavy rain(like earlier this year). This new stuff isn't supposed to do that. -
good luck red. haul that flyash like a liquid, it will flow like water. it is easier to not stop up than clear a line after it happens. and last always keep windows up when loading cement and ash. i have had gate to stick and drop 6-8 ton of ash on my trailor and tractor. makes for a big mess.
-
Your message is well received. The places we load cement are very careful to not spill any...however...
The place we load the most fly ash will and has dropped a ton or 2 of that stuff on the trailer already.
Had to spend about 20 minutes under the spray bar to get most of it off.
Windows up is a definite good thing.
The man that trained me taught me a few tricks on line stoppage...it's not like I'm going to prevent it...just try and minimize the possibility of it happening, or getting too bad.
