I stupidly confirmed a load going out to Los Angeles.
Can I get that New Mexico permit quickly in one day? New authority, never have gotten it before.
Also, I read something about a California registration permit?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank You

New Mexico can be purchased at the Port of Entry or online thru a permit service. Not sure about getting a California Motor Carrier Permit quickly or even when it is required for outnof state based carriers.
Here is a California based permit service that I know can help with the NM weight distance permit and should have answers about any other California requirements.

NM tax revenue online site . Cheaper to register and pay upfront cost than purchase at point of entry . Just register your truck for the year .

They will pull you over at weigh station, ask where you are going and make you pay on the spot

You won't need one for California if you're running interstate.Accidental Trucker Thanks this. -
For New Mexico go to https://tap.state.nm.us
Create an account, an annual permit will cost $10. You will then have to do quarterly filings to report your miles and pay the amount due.RockinChair and Accidental Trucker Thank this. -
It's a pain in the ### by the time you do NM, KY, NY, and the biggest douche of a state Oregon. Since you're a new authority if you plan on running otr might as well get them all done asap so you don't run into this problem again later.
Accidental Trucker Thanks this.
