Correct but POV’s are a little different as the you have to be in contact with the owner on where you might drop off the persons car or truck.

 

Very true and you are correct about that being a luxury for us. I don’t understand how some one can sit at a warehouse all day not doing anything but waiting to get unloaded.

 

I guess that I do the STI drop offs also. Just never heard the term . Only do cars on return if needed. Yes, I am NOT the wait around all day perfecting my tiddly winks kind of person. Things to do - places to go !!

 

I would not say most dealers allow sti drop, most dealers have gates or vehicles blocking the entrance. More important sti drops usually delay payment to 30 days with large carriers and brokers. Also have to worry about them coming back to say there was an extra scratch on the $1200 pos car from the auction and refuse to pay at all.

 

I remember a dealer who always had to find some bs damage. The carrier I worked for would wait to deliver his cars all at once and usually when it was raining or snowing.

 

These trends can change over time, as your friend mentioned, and what's popular today may not be the same tomorrow. It might be worth exploring both options and staying updated with the industry to make an informed decision.
