NEW PETERBILTS..CAN'T SEE OUT OF THE MIRRORS

    The big grumble I have with our new 579’s is the mirrors on the fenders. I have to squeeze into too many tight places to not be able to see the corners of the hood, and the new square mirrors are nearly useless for that.

    I don't understand why new tractors have gone away from the round mirrors that hung over the front of the bumper (and allowed you to see what you were about to hit/run over as well as to the side and above your cab) to the square ones set back far enough to not let you see anything but to the sides. When my last company switched from kws to freightliners we got that change, and considering some of the places we went, such as rebar yards with rebar all over the ground, it really sucked.

    Have you also noticed that Peterbilt has managed to design a cup holder that will not fit any container ever devised by man? Anything I put in there either falls out or won't fit in the first place.

    I saw a new style Cascadia with fish eye fender mirrors, just now, I don't know where it was from.

    Stevens equipped some that way, too, older style Cascadias.

    I think they may have quit making those, the new tanker trucks I'm seeing are the new style, 3 months ago, those were mostly the old style.

    They also can't design a sun visor that actually works.

    20 oz Gatorade bottles seem to fit in the ones in my 579.
