ERM I don't know. Its too trite. The write up.

Didnt they say for decades that babies die sleeping upside down? I happen to be one of those. However I spent my incubator days on my back. If written records were not kept that year I would not know anything about that first year.

The problem is this. Covid infects blood cells in the body. Millions of them. Takes you 8 weeks to build a pints worth. Plasma water volume only needs two days. But without red cells to carry new oxygen and dispose of waste gas in the lungs you die in a few minutes. Either sofficate or suffer organ failure systemwide and sofficate anyway.

When infected red cells hit the lungs they cannot trade for fresh oxygen. And lose their iron scraping past scar tissue forming inside the lung bubble where the swap happens, you have millions. Next thing you know your lungs are full of iron particles mixed with scarring and boom then fill with fluid as your body decides to flush it. You either soffacate or drown. It does not matter at that point if you were on a ventilator from god.

One possible solution is to flush the infected blood, 10 pints or so give or take. Throw it away, squeeze in 10 more pints of fresh donor blood that has no covid in it and works fine. boom you dance out of there that hour.

There is one device that can save you in that situation. Called a hyperbaric chamber. Stick you in there with a few nurses and one surgeon and his tools. Fill entire tank with 100% oxygen (About half the size of a semi tanker of oxygen) then increase the pressure, say 100 feet below the surface of the ocean. ALL of your body is flooded with oxygen from outside in.

It takes half a day for one. And there are only a handful of those chambers on the east coast. Usually in Trauma Units.

You will never have say 500,000 hyperbarics. If you did you will find that the suppliers of medical oxygen would exhaust themselves and drain our earth's atmosphere trying to feed them all. And the patient still dies in bunches.

    What then?

Flip them over? It cannot be that simple. If it is then I will celebrate it. But prove it Mr Doctor.

Its always the smallest simple stuff that derails my life in anything I try to do. HA....

Check out the evergreen hospital that saved the doctor....
The physicians used extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) to provide life support to Padgett for about a week. The treatment, a form of life support, draws blood out of the body, oxygenates the blood and delivers it back to the body.
Not many of them either but it's interesting.
And simple is sometimes amazingly useful. But yes, proof is needed...

I am a beneficary of Ecmo. I spent a week on it.

There are so many ways to fix this that I think we can win this thing. The tragety is that we had a chance to halt travel to and from where it started and it was wasted and frittered away.

You can also take your hands in form like a cup and then do those fast strikes on the back of someone’s back and on the side of their chest with their arms lifted up and this will cause air pockets to open up within the lungs and usually the person to go into a raging coughing fit which coughs up the mucus. From what I gather mucus isn’t really the problem with this virus. It’s an immune reaction and the people have what’s very similar to an asthma type symptoms. The bodies own immune system overreacting. Basically, you suffocate to death. And it could happen within a matter of a few hours. You can go from breathing fine to dead.
