Is been 5 years or so since I've seen my mask but from what I remember the hose connected from the top & went over the top of my head. There should be a swivel on both ends of the hose.

Ok guys (and gals!) I have another question. I know its a bit premature but I like the seeds planted early. With Prime I am looking at reefer or flatbed once going solo as a company dick. When I first spoke with my recruiter he asked me my preference & I said reefer. This was before I started reading the reefer board & saw a bunch of horror stories there. This has me second guessing myself. I would consider flatbed but my main concern is my back. I have mid back pain which flares up fairly easily. I know no one has a crystal ball but should I avoid flatbed because of throwing tarps, strapping, etc?

So, I have managed to read up thru page 100 so far. PHEW! There was a big hub bub that lasted several pages regarding drug testing. Now, I do not use illegal drugs but I do like to have a beer or 2, no more, at the end of some days. Will that pose any kind of problem for me?

Good chance you will do PSD/TNT in reefer, anyway. There are far more reefer instructors/trainers than flats, and even fewer tanker. If that occurs, you go through securement training afterward, if going flat. Most guys I DO know whom run skateboards are pretty happy, though. I'm know it is definately more laid back & more regular hours.
Never did get the "horror stories" of reefer. I stay busy as all getout & make very, very good money. Even my students are usually over the "guaranteed" weekly nearly every week, sometimes by a decent amount. The hours WILL be all over the clock, though.
Yes, we do have our bad days. But, what job doesn't? In my experience, it isn't anything near as bad as some make it out to be. You've got to keep in perspective that there are a heck of a lot of complainers in the world, possibly even more so in this business than any where else. It is what YOU make of it.
Be of luck to you whichever division you choose.Big Trucker G and redoctober83 Thank this. -
Maybe one day they will see the light and make the enclosure big enough to put the tarps inside instead of on top... not too far from it now, just a few inches to small.darthanubis and Big Trucker G Thank this. -
Thanks for the feedback, skellr & FMJ.
Can anyone tell me how easy/difficult it would be to change divisions if things just aren't working out? -

If you do go to orientation, talk to Stan (head man, SUPER great guy, trucking his whole life) about your concerns & desires about each division. He will not steer you wrong.
PChase and Big Trucker G Thank this.
