hello all, I'm new to this forum and I'm thinking of going in to trucking, my friend works for Colonial and he likes it allot although the pay isnt as good. I have been to several different boards and have been reading and reading about good companys bad companys etc. I know who to stay away from company like Swift, CR, JP #### huh I mean hunt lolz and a few others. I heard Schneider has a good training program and are really good on teaching safety etc. and just a plan good company to start out with. I have heard the term per deim being thrown around here what does that exactly mean?? What does O/O mean?? I see some many people type that here, well thanks again
Colleen

O/O=Owner Operator.
Welcome to the forum!!!!:smt039 :smt039 :smt039 -
o/o means "owner-operator"
as for "per diem" it basically means an amount of money is taken off your paycheck each week for the days you are on the road, and then your pay is taxed on the balance. then, that "per diem" money is put back into your paycheck. i haven't had a per diem job in years, so if i described it wrong, someone else will chime in and explain it in better detail. -
punch "diem" into the search tab at the top there. i just read SEVERAL threads on it earlier today as a matter of fact. there is EXTENSIVE info on it here.
