Hello, I'm new to the site, so if there is already a thread about this I'm sorry. When requesting my driving record, the first option is: The Type 1 driver record is a status record and provides information about your: Birth date. Driver license status. Home address. The original application date for your drivers license. My question is: When a potential employer checks your driving record for accidents, status, etc., what is shown for your license issue/application date? Is it when your license was upgraded to a class A CDL, or when you got your very first driver's license in that state (first class C license as a teenager)? I'm just not sure if "original application date" applies to the class C license or the class A CDL. Short version: Can potential employers see when you got your CDL or not? Thank you.
Im sure they can. If they have access to your important info then im sure getting a cdl issue date is not that difficult for an employer. Hope this helps.
Thanks Katt Daddy. Yeah, that's what I figured, but a guy that I trained with told me that all they can see is when you got your original license, which for me was back when I was like 15 or 16. I didn't really believe the guy, but I haven't been able to find a definite answer, which is why I tried posting on here
They can run an MVR back to 10 years I think unless they changed the law to allow longer than that? It will show when each class was issued during that period. Some of the higher paying companies want your complete driving history all the way back to when you got your license so they may have a way to check further than 10 years?
