Which I do, however, that still means going to a facility where the empty on freightbox is one lone trailer in a locked yard or it's a bad trailer and then there goes an hour on nothing. One of the Denver managers said I could get an empty at Coors which is what I'll do next time...grab an empty from Coors south, turn in RFID magnet, take empty to Coors trailer inspection, get another RFID magnet & trailer inspection form, and then go to Coors west...since Coors west doesn't like drivers bobtailing in...and they need that trailer inspection form/magnet :D:p

Go into the terminal and ask for a local t called load with a drop and hook at a location that has empties. Nobody ever wants to do that and the planners love it when someone volunteers to do it. Do it often enough at terminals and or truck number will get around to the planners and they'll start hooking you up for doing them a favor.

Go to the trailer repair shop and ask if they have any finished trailers you can get out of the way for them. I used to do that at a lot of Swift Terminals when I was there about 3 generations ago lol !!

Don't even need a drop and hook.
A live unload will get you that empty faster than the hunt and peck game.

Good point. Also a trick I used at Walmart DCs when I couldn't find an mt. Look for Swift trailers on a door, go in and ask when they expect it be unloaded, generally its within the hour. Then just wait near the door and when the yard dog come to pull it off just let him know you're going to take it.

Last, if you're in an area with a lot of warehouses, just go into any one where you see Swift trailers. Go to the office and tell them the planners sent you there to get an MT. If they have they usually let you have it.
