I always keep my truck clean, inside and out. My blankets are always folded and stacked neatly, and all equipment is strapped to the wall.

When people look at your truck and wonder if you are going to take care of their freight, they just need to look at your truck to get an idea.

how much spend on truck washes per month. where are the best lanes to keep it that way?

I see a minimum of $30.00 for a basic on up.per wash. price depends on location.

$100 for wash on truck & trailer, hand dry, rainex on the truck and tire dressing all around.
Not too hard to keep clean between Phx & LA-no snow, rarely rains and almost always sunny!

Exactly. My equipment is always meticulous and well kept. Like you, my bed is made before my shoes go on. It all starts there. Everything has its place.

We are out and back very often, but I carry a 2 gal pump sprayer and 4 gal of extra water and a small wash bucket. When I get into nasty roads and the tractor looks "bad" , I take 30-45 min and fix it. I can wash the whole tractor from doors down with 6gal of water and it looks spotless.

More than once I've had guys walk over to me in a truckstop and say they started out laughing at me , but by the end they thought I had a heck of an idea. I've converted more than one from spending $50 @ the truck wash when it's not entirely necessary.

    I hate a filthy truck.

Swift hasn't reimbursed for truck washed for about two or three years. Although I should add that if you were based out of certain terminals you could get reimbursed. Such as Memphis. And ironically, Memphis is one of the terminals with their own truck wash. The terminal washes are a joke. Nothing more than a high pressure rain with some soap. At best it will rinse off the top layer of dirt and that's about it.

When I first started 6 years ago, Swift did reimburse for truck washes, but I guess some drivers abused the privilege so they stopped doing it. I hate it. I hate that my white truck looks almost black from the dirt. I actually look forward to days with a good hard soaking rain. Cleans the truck up somewhat. I'm not gonna spend $50 of my own money to wash a company truck without getting reimbursed for it. We can get reimbursed for anything else we spend on the truck, but not a wash. Fine. If that is the image they wish to present to their customers...so be it.
