OK you get in an accident right when you pull out of the truck stop. Why wouldn't you tear up the page and log that you did a PT fifteen minutes prior? Granted if your running illegal they can go back and cell phone ping against your logbook,...... on the east coast I would spend four nights at rest stops, since all the truck stops were full.

I suppose that might work, if you don't have a small crowd around the accident looking at you fussing with your logbook. No matter what, you'll need to defend that logbook against any good attorney's private investigator. If it's really bad you might need to defend against the prosecutor's office investigation. The "you shouldn't have been here" argument is slam dunk liability.

i am not concerned with polticians definition of legal

i am concerned with safe operation of my vehicle to keep everyone alive

a driver can be legal and unsafe, or he can be illegal and safe

I am just wondering when the rules said we had to drive 11 hours before our 10 hour break ?
The way I understand it is I allowed to drive up to 11 before my 10 hour break .

So for all the "what iffers" out there that means if I hit traffic or I hit weather or what ever the "what if is" .
I just stop before I am forced into doing something that will cost me a fine or trouble with Barny .

I don't believe that a professional driver lets themselves get put into the situation of no hours at all left and no place to park .
Elogs or paper it makes no difference you just don't let yourself get into the jam to start with .

The real difference between a truck driver and a steering wheel holder is in the decision making side of the job not the driving side in my opinion .
Being a true truck driver is knowing when to go and when to stop be it weather, HOS, sleepy, or what ever the case may be .

It doesn't make you less of a driver if you don't max out your drive time every day .

I always have a plan B or C. Once you understand the lane your running, it only takes a glance at what your using to navigate by. Then B and C will turn ino an afterthought - you can only run all 48 for so long and claim ignorance!

For those that say "If you don't trip plan, this is what happens." This is absurd, how many trucks are on the road and how many parking spots are there again?
