Do you guys know of any good truck driving schools in the North Alabama area? I see these guys around but I don't know much about them. They are $2500...The name of the school is ESD....

When I did my research on which school to go to I also ran across ESD in Decatur. After cross checking phone numbers and addresses, I discovered that there had been 3 different schools at that location in the last few years. A bit too shady for me. Wound up going to Marshall Tech in Guntersville. Nice laid back place, they are also a 3rd party tester so they do their own testing!! Also $2500 for the 4-wk course. Only minus I can now see is they have limited space, so the only backing they have is straight line and alley dock. I went into the flatbed industry, which uses 48' spread axle trailers. VERY different than the boxes!!!! Took a lil bit to get used to it.

Thanks! Did you check into Calhoun's program? I noticed it was 120 hours though.

You will need a 160-hr course to be hired on with no experience (rookie/student) with most companies. I had 7 1/2 years Class B experience driving Class 7 vehicles and still needed the 160 hr course before I could be hired on.

There are four I have been looking into, Magic City, 1-866-910-0851, Charles Robinson.
    Bama Driving, 1-888-800-2262, Brandon.
    ESD, 1-866-432-0430, Scott.
    Affordable, 1-877-918-2838, Darrell.
I talked with some companies, I wanted to work for and they can tell you the ones they hire from and what the schools provide.
I am attending ESD, Monday week.
Ask and I will tell you what I have gotten from them.
