Nooooo sir , only 3. Ran a longer trip on Monday ,11 to 12 hours , 3 stops , around 400 miles , with ususally 1300 to at most 1500 pieces , then a real short trip ( 8 hours 200 miles ) with only 2 stops , 800 to 1000 pieces on Tuesday , off Wednesday , then the same route on Thursday as the one on Monday , then off Friday , Saturday & Sunday . Usually totaled around 33 or so hours a week. We were paid by the mile , the stop , and the piece , along with any delay time / breakdowns that might occur. I let those younger guys fight over those 4 and 5 day schedules. Too much work for an old fart.

Now you have to realize , it took me a fair amount of time to gain enough seniority in order to bid on those 3 day runs. I ran my share of weekend routes , 4 & 5 day schedules for more than 10 years. At the time I was running the routes I referred to in my prior post I had over 30 years in with the company , I was # 5 out of over 100 drivers that worked there.

Hope that puts this info in the proper light for you , GSF for me wasn't just a job , it was a career choice , I retired in 2011 with 33 years in with them. I will say this though , if I had the same choice as a young driver today , I would pick GSF over anyone in NC to work for , Even a spot with UPS , or the other union shops around. Way too many games played by those guys. At GSF you are asked only a couple of things. Show up ON TIME , drive safely , professionally , and treat the customers with respect. Easiest 3 things in the world to do in order to earn a much better than average pay check.

This is not a blog. Blog is short for WEBLOG. It is like a digital, public diary. Or just a personally written article posted online.

These messages are "classified" as forum web posts, in different categories.

Just some intel. Not judging. 'cause I'm not 100% sure I am right... hehehehee
