There are some places,very few, for around $1k/month for lot rent to park a camper. Best bet is to split it with 1-2 other folks.

 

I read in another thread that certain sites do require all cotton clothing or Nomex suits. That is pricey from what I understand. Just another piece of info.

 

Yes, you have to buy fire proof suits. Google them and they're around $50 a pair.

If you're going to pull a tanker for oilfield/nat gas, GET A SLEEPER AND LIVE IN IT. The poster up a few about housing prices is unfortunately right on the money. Same thing happened in NE PA with the Marcellus Shale gasfield bit. Property owners are gouging as all get out and renting places I wouldn't leave a dog for 1000+ a month. Unfortunately they're getting away with it because people are paying for it. It's cooled off here quite a bit and the property owners/scalpers are now rather unhappy, and lots of them are selling the properties.

I'll say it again, get a tractor with a tolerable sleeper, and live in it just as if you were OTR. Work your 12-14 hour shift, take 10, repeat. Don't give in and pay these ungodly rates for crap housing. You can make a lot of money with their hourly rates, but you will need to exercise quite a bit of care with regard to your fuel burn as they will definitely not pay for fuel.

 

The sleeping in truck sounds great...where do you suggest they park? Their are way more trucks than available free Parking. You can rent parking spaces, but they'll cost you about $500/1000 a month as well

Why do you say if it isn't' with Halliburton its a waste of time? I put in for a transfer back in July lol and haven't heard one thing back since lmao. I Guess they don't want me to leave lol...

 

There is no free truck parking up here unless u park on a side road... They outlawed campers in the town limits of Williston... Alot O/O are sitting for days at a time without work...to get hired here u have to apply here in person... And be ready to prove u have housing here... Listen to Harold196..
