Housing is easing up a bit in NW ND. Rent is high but so are wages. Hubby hauls water and lives in Watford City. We do know of a few rentals coming available soon. If you'd like more info just message me.
Good luck to everyone....we simply LOVE our ND life! :biggrin_25519:

I doubt you will get on up there with no experience. Those roads aren't for someone without experience. That is the slickest and softest mud you've ever been on in your life.

    CommanderUsmc Thanks this.

The hiring is slow up here right now... It's hard for guys with experience to get driving jobs... Best bet is get 90-180 days under your belt first then start applying up here.

2 years experience is a common requirement for CDL jobs that I've seen listed on a few sites for north dakota jobs. do you have experience driving in winter weather and blizzard like conditions?

This isn't the interstate here.... These scoria roads turn into Ice roads... It takes.0000001 sec to mess up here, And to end ur oilfield driving career... This place washes out a lot of drivers who say I've drove here and drove in that weather condition... I see accidents every day from drivers who think they can drive in the snow... Especially power fuels... They have Qualcomm they track everything u do speed engine revving hard braking... They are focusing on experienced drivers... With actual experience. Insurance companies are getting more strict on driver skills and qualifications...

I echo that sentiment. This is not a place to learn to drive ESPECIALLY in the winter. I have 3 yrs otr but its not the same as driving here. I would never come here as a new driver in the winter. There are things that can screw you without you even knowing.. I drive a triple axel with a tag on the truck as well. You don't lift that tag up when your going around an icy corner and it will sail you right into the ditch. I also learned that you never have it down on the lease roads. No one told me a thing about triple axels. I only learned second hand and by experience. But that is not a way to learn. I almost landed myself into the ditch. its easy to make a mistake here. Every time it snows i see a truck that has gone off the road and turned over. You should get used to driving a truck in general then come here after the winter is over.
