I know Stagecoach Transportation of El Paso has operating authority in Mexico. Whether they actually use it I don't know. As for Munoz Trucking, we only send our trailers into Mexico. We also do some transloading at our warehouse on the yard between our trailers, other us carriers, and Mexican carriers.
The Mexican highway system is at a level ours was back in the early 60s when the interstate system was still being built.

u.s. drivers don't go into mexico. there are mexican drivers who obviously drive in mexico and the u.s. you will drop your trailer at the border and a mexican driver will take it across. you do not want to drive a big rig in mexico. don't dream it, think it. it ain't happening.

I've done it before...years ago. Once you get through the border towns, a lot of it seems like the open range roads in Texas and New Mexico. The thing is, you have to watch out for the people walking across the road just as much as you do the cattle.
If you're going to have problems in Mexico, it will be in the border towns. That's where all the smuggling and illegal activities funnel through. The funny thing about the crime in Mexico is that you don't hear about preschoolers getting shot up by punk teens mad at their mommies. No mass shootings in movie theaters. Some of you may find this hard to believe, but the vast majority of us wouldn't ever have any problems in Mexico...unless you are stupid and you step on some bad guys toes.newlife1966, Professional-Trucker and DriverToBroker Thank this. -
How about up to Alaska? Do trucks ever go from the 48 though Canada to deliver in Alaska? Are there certain trucking companies that specialize in that?
Maybe they get most of their product by boat and plane. -
