SAN ANTONIO, Fla. (WFLA) – Five students on a Pasco County school bus are okay after the bus was T-boned by a tractor trailer.

The crash happened around 5 p.m. Tuesday on State Road 52 at the Interstate-75 overpass.

Video shows the driver of the semi, identified by the Florida Highway Patrol as David Dunlop II of Stetson, Maine, go around another vehicle stopped at a light and then turn left right into the middle of the school bus.

The driver’s father, David Dunlop, told WFLA News Channel 8 over the phone that it was just an accident and that the car in front of his son sat through several light cycles and never moved. He told WFLA NewsChannel 8 that’s the reason his son chose to drive around the car in front of him.

Improper lane change, failure to yield to oncoming/cross traffic, possibly reckless driving charges might be applied. Like @Broke Down 69 said, the citations for those will be the least of his worries.

He will probably not lose it. He has no business driving like this and the actual crimes are disregarding a traffic device and improper turn.

Like I said earlier i live there. I can see he was pulling out of flying j trying to go south on 75. You can see eastbound traffic a mile away. Unless he thought the bus had a red light, why would he pull out? Must have been late for Wal-Mart or sysco!! Lol

It didn't look like the car his daddy was talking about sat thru any cycles of lights...he pulled up and stopped for 5 seconds, and this yutz just couldn't wait.
