"The National Rifle Association is urging the Bush administration to withdraw its support of a bill that would prohibit suspected terrorists from buying firearms."

The NRA are some seriously sick ppl.

They probably have an ulterior motive, thinking the government will take advantage of it like they did the homeland security bill.

I agree with them one hundred percent here. "Terror suspect" is a meaningless buzzword, which translates accurately as "someone who pissed off the wrong bureaucrat".

Lets remember, we are not just talking about middle eastern males....

A terrorist "suspect" - could be construed as the following.

    1. Anyone who looks at anti-government sites.
    2. Anyone who attends a radical church.
    3. Anyone who has an ideology not liked by the Government.

I think the NRA is on the ball..... its members could be potential terrorist suspects, simply by stating that they will never give up their guns.

I truely believe this could be the dreaded "slippery slope"

Lets remember McVeigh, Nichols, Rudolph, etc... they were bad guys, but they were regular people before they did something wrong.

This strips people of DUE-PROCESS. And would be secretive, you would not know why you were denied a firearm.

I know a guy that cheated on his wife. He came home late
one night and supposidly she physically attacked him.
He defended himself and in the process gave her a bruise.
She turned him in. He plea bargained it. As a result of the
domestic violence law against gun ownership he cannot
purchase a gun for the rest of his life. He is long divorced
from her but still can not purchase a gun. I am not saying
he is a great guy. Point is this is another way to ban
guns for all of us. Find excuse to take away gunrights
to one group at a time. A terror suspect is a suspect
and if you have anything on him take him into custody.

Its just like the fact that we can't run radar detectors.
Truck drivers are more skilled as a group than regular drivers
with vehicles that generally have much lower top speeds.
Logic does not seem to matter when they make these laws.

Many states charge you with a misdemeanor for having a radar detector.

If your in a car I think its 3 states that will charge you (give or take)
If your in a tractor trailer federal law states you can't run one
    in all 50 states.

The way the officers talk is it does not matter if you have one.. They sit in the median, and by the time they click the button to get your speed, its to late for the detector.

Thats true if your the guy in front, but if your following behind him
when they get his speed your detector goes off.I own a detector
but have not botherd to use lately it because all the false alarms,
its just a hassle. But I do believe that we should all be alowed to
use them. The air wave should be free to monitor with whatever
    device you have.
