I just realized you can't get from NY to Chicago in 11 hours on I-80.

So what do you UPS/FedEx guys do? I've seen guys slipseat in Brookville, and I've passed the terminal near Snowshoe. Do you guys relay at 5.5 hours or drive 11 then stay at a hotel/bunkhouse and go back the next day?

Yeah, I just wonder where they do it. Do NY guys go all the way to Toledo? Is there a guy that just runs IN-OH? (Maybe link them into triples for the Pike?) Even with a terminal on the south side of Chicago, you burn up your clock until you get past 94. Can't be good for getting as far as NJ.

I could get "home" from Chicago with paper.

I'm more curious about how the big two actually do this, I'm sure they're not pushing drivers to run illegal as a policy, and NY-CHI has to be a pretty big lane for them.

FedEx Freight has terminals, hubs, relay yards, and meet points all over the place to move freight across the country. They could send it to a hub in PA like Snow Shoe, and from there run it to a meet with a Chicago driver. But it wouldn’t be overnight, they don’t offer next day service from NYC to Chicago.
