    I had a question/idea to float.

I have a substantial amount in student loans to be repaid over a period of 10 years.

I was wondering if my company can institute an education reimbursement program by which the company pays the student loans and can therefore deduct it as a business expense.

It is in the neighborhood of $1600 a MONTH.

"Google is your friend". Yeah I know. I have about 10 unopened solicitations from CPA's on my desk alone. I will hire one in the next month or so but wondering if anyone's already done this or knows offhand.

The better question is, "Has anyone already done this and successfully passed an IRS audit?" Also, remember that a tax lawyer has client confidentiality privileges that an accountant doesn't. :biggrin_255:
