Well, I'm sure you already know the "all in" rate they try to pass off that doesn't really include tolls. Then if you get the tolls broke outside of that and they try to lower the base rate. It's a shell game. I think they hope people aren't aware of the tolls and just take the "all in" rate and jump.

Of course they always go for the lowest price. I never book a load with tolls that I didn't already know that going in and priced it accordingly. It's a bunch of headache having that stuff broken out. Just book it all in and go.

Another load assigment 98DH 188LD. Pays 645.75 gross. 53.30 fsc
    645.75 × 70% 452.03
    452.03+ 53.30 = 503.33
    503.33÷286= 1.75mi

Then im on another load 102DH 446LD
    1200 gross × 70% = 840
    Fsc 100.00 = 940.00 ÷548mi
    1.71mi
Havent bought fuel so 1.70 avg will go way down.

Deadhead kills avg per mile. Also kills Hrs available on 70 equals lost revenue to truck at end week.

When you lease on at 70%. You lose30% control of your business. Its that simple. So off to the next load we go.

Some loads have better FSC. Ive noticed customer loads pay usually better FSC as opposed to broker loads. Its 100% reimbursed but i dont believe its based on D.O.E unfortunatly. Ive seen loads pay 190.00 FSC on 570mi. And ive seen loads pay 24.00 on 428mi. How they fig it i have no clue

    JimmyWells and nax Thank this.

There is no such thing as a current FSC. FSC is defined by a formula in the contract with the customer and the formula can vary from customer to customer.

And broker freight may or may not have a FSC. Only/maybe if the broker has an ongoing contract. Spot market has no FSC.

Most load boards will break out an average FSC. But it's just that, an average.

    In my experience:
Company 1 paid .90 empty +FSC and1.05LD + fsc based on national avg example if avg was 2.50 gal FSC was .25mi . Didnt matter if it was a customer or broker. Updated weekly lowest was .23 highest being .44 that was in 2012 to 2015 time frame.

Company 2 paid 70% Linehaul. FSC was .20mi regardless of national avg loaded or empty practical miles. Customer or broker didnt matter

Company 3 pays 70% linehaul. Their FSC i havent figured out except it pays better on customer freight in some case. But after your post i believe your correct due to the varience in FSC rates.

Govt doesnt regulate FSC program so companies can interpet it and distribute FSC as they determine.

At end of the day the FSC program is designed to help relieve the cost of fuel to the OO. It would be helpful if companies distributed the FSC based on national rate using formula as you stated IMO.

I appreciate your insite though. It makes sense in my situation as i scratch my head trying to fig it out. I just never worked for a company before as example 3. Lol now i have
