Hello, I'm an O/O that owns 2 tractors. I drive one and have a hired driver in the second truck. Currently have both trucks leased to company out of TN. I have been with my current carrier for just over a year and a half. Everything was going great for the 1st year so that when I decided to purchase a 2nd truck and expand my fleet, but now things are making a turn and things are not looking promising as communication with driver manager and everyone at HQ is almost becoming nonexistent and company is increasing their company trucks and is catering to those trucks before the O/O... I'm out of Atlanta and looking for company suggestions that treat their O/O right!! Prefer a company that is only O/O and can get me home on a regular basis!! My driver and I have only pulled 53' dry vans but are open to learning proper load securement and pulling flatbed if the rates are right. Thanks for any input you may be able to offer!!

While there is no such thing as a best company for everyone. We are all different, and want different things. That said, Mercer is the best company for me. I'd like to kick myself for not coming here 15 years sooner. you should at least research them to see if they may be a good fit for you.

Landstar is a great company. I have 2 trucks leased on with them and do very well. I too learned the hard way, never lease to a company that has company trucks, they will work and you will sit when things get slow

Have leased to RK Kampf before, out if salem ohio. Husband/wife who started with one old flattop pete and worked their way into getting authority and have been in business several years they would be worth checking out.

You need to figure out if you're able to dispatch your self and the other truck or if you need a dispatcher. I'd personally say go with mercer. Landstar is good to but your on your own literally with them. Good luck to you

Please don't go with a company that pays mileage. That's how you get screwed
