Looking for informed opinions which are supported by facts....looking to get into OVERSIZE/HH, ultimately. I'm SURE I'll need to start with normal flatbed. I'm just fine with that. But I'm looking to find the best place to start with FB and move ----» OD ---» HH. And I'd like to stay with the same outfit for all of those tiers. I live in the Midwest.

Yes. They're one of the first couple companies that came to mind when I was thinking about this, but I didn't know how many other possibilities might be out there.

1 outfit, from the bottom to the top? You're looking at companies like LoneStar, ATS, Systems Transport, Combined Transport.

Ok yeah...I've seen all of them out there (I run West almost exclusively at the moment, but not doing that...so I've seen all of those at various times)
I trained on FB but it's been several years ago so I'd probably need a refresher on securement - or at least whatever company's respective policies were on ways of doing things but I'm sure that's not a huge deal with most of those companies since I know they pretty much all take newer drivers.

Any take on which of those companies might keep their O/Os or contractors busiest? (I know some companies are geared toward either company or contractor side, but typically it's not an even split)

No refreshers...you will be fine. They all will gives you a regs book.

There comes a certain time, in the OSOW world where it doesn't really make a difference if you're company or own the truck, bit whether or not you can do the job. If you are the GoTo Guy, they will go to you. But if you own your truck, start off with a company like MidWest Transport out of Minnesota. Smaller company

Sounds like great advice...no matter what type I've ever hauled, and company or otherwise, I've always liked being with a small carrier....only been with a bigger one once, and they were horrible so I didn't stay long. Love the carrier I'm with now but I'm tired of reefers after 10 years of doing it.
