Hey yall!
Going to CDL school week after next and would love to get opinions.
I'm about to turn 32 and located in NWFL. I have a little dog that I need to be with me, so trying to find companies that are dog friendly. Add onto needing to make ATLEAST $2K a month after taxes, which companies do yall recommend?
No tickets. Rear ended in 2021 though (not my fault).
I would love to stay home every weekend/night but I also realize it's not feasible as a newbie.
I have aviation background (so background check will be clean). I've tried Cypress but they said they cant get me in until they find a female trainer.
US Xpress wants me to call back once I have CDL in hand as well.
Swift gave me a CJO.
I'm close to Pensacola and Mobile as well.
Thank you for those that have read through!

Swift will accept you -- provided the dog is in fact small (under 40 pounds, I think).
Werner will take almost any dog size.
Swift has a terminal over in Irvington, AL:
Swift Transportation Mobile, AL Terminal
I would try to get on with them, first.
The dog will be your limiting factor.

Swift welcomes lady drivers:
CDL Jobs for Women - Female Truck Driving School
Without any experience -- you most likely won't start out pulling $2k per week...especially with a pet along.

Omg. I should've put a month.
I know a week isn't feasible. I just need to make atleast $2k a month after taxes so I can pay bills and pay off debt. -
I realize some wont take dogs unfortunately. Once I can be home every night, I'm okay to not have her with me to work.
-
Note also: while you are out on a trainer's truck -- your dog will have to be somewhere else.
You need to make arrangements for such -- before Swift (or whomever else) you join.
