Lost my engine due to a spun bearing, ate into the block. At least it lasted to deliver my cargo and get me home. Dealer opening the bottom and saw all the metal in the pan, removed the bearing and was dead at #4 cylinder, to far gone to rebuild. The crankshaft was damaged also. Engine lasted 1.3 million miles with no overhaul.

A reman engine at a tune of $47k, found a full dress used one with so called 360k on the clock for $12k, with 30 day warranty, should be at the dealer on Tuesday, they charging $9k to install. Before installed they going to check the upper and lower and pressure test it. Hopefully I can get 1 million plus out of this one.

Any warning before she spun? Do you monitor the oil pressure?

How far did you drive it with a spun bearing? I only ask because I'm guessing it made a heck of a racket and shook.

    Coffey and Rideandrepair Thank this.

That sucks, sorry to hear that. Did you ever have the rods and mains done? Once you spin a bearing, the block is done. I have mine done at 500k

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

Fyi a bearing spins when the bearings are worn out, and haven't been changed. Doing rods and mains prevents this
