Ohio toll road free showers, how does it work?

Yep. And all of PA’s used to be like that. They’ve made some bigger now, but Pa’s service plaza’s always sucked

i remember they rebuilt the service plaza’s and raised the speed limit for trucks to 65 on the pike. The Governor at the time said this was to entice trucks to run the pike instead of route 30. They eventually did away with the split speed limits if i’m not mistaken, but being able to run 65 on the pile sure was nice at the time

 

And now its so expensive to run the PA pike, we reroute for portions anyways.

Yep. From the Ohio line to any point east, i wouldn’t touch the PA pike for nothing lol. 80-99-322 or from i70 i run up pa66 to us22 and across. You need an 800 credit score and a pre-approval for a mortgage to run the Pa pike anymore.

 

You want to know what's more disgusting than a truck stop shower floor? Some damp, moist flip flops that you lug around in a nasty plastic bag or whatever drivers tote them in to wear inside truck stop showers. That's nasty. I've never used any sort of shoes in a truck stop shower. Always bare footed but I also always asked for extra towels and in 25+ years no-one has ever said no or asked why. I put them on the floor outside the shower and inside the shower too so my bare feet don't ever touch the nasty floor. Never had any foot fungus or anything like that. I also dry my feet well and let them air out good before putting back on socks/shoes. Drying your feet well is important..

 

Not sure I could do that. I wear flip-flops from the truck to the shower and all the way back to the truck. They are dry by the time I get back to the truck.

 

I never understood what flip flops were going to do. The water is splashing everywhere, everything is wet. Wash your feet with soap, dry them when you get out of the shower. I’ve never used shower shoes and never had a problem.



Edit: i forget some truck drivers can’t reach their feet to wash them

Wet flipflops in a ziplock bag? Gross.

My flipflops sit in the bottom of my backpack with the soles touching AFTER I dry them off with a towel. I do take them out occasionally and hit them with some disinfectant as well.

Disinfectant spray for the shower is a good idea as well.
