Oil industry jobs in Central Coast, California

    I’m considering the Central Coast area (Santa Barbara, SLO, etc.) to relocate to to be closer to family in LA. Are there the types of driving jobs with the oil industry there that there are in North Dakota, West Texas, etc.? If so, what are some companies to look into, the pay, schedule, etc.?

    I know California's oil industry isn't what it used to be so I'm not expecting much, I'm thinking more short term than career, just wondering.

    I’ve been driving trucks for over 8 years, the last 4 of which in the timber industry, hauling wood chips and lumber/veneer.

    Crude hauling typically a good money-maker in driving oil field. But driving isn't gonna be your higher pay, a roustabout is where many start without a CDL in oil field and you can go so many directions as for companies it depends where you land and what your willing to do and not do. midland area is ideal but your first issue is gonna be housing even finding a spot for a RV could be hard much less an apartment or something. my section I work a lot is Barnhart, Big Lake, Rankin and on occasion, midland to help with our yard there when they are short workers and I want more hours. I would say that the highest pay isn't just a driver in the oil field and if you want to achieve that you need look beyond it learn fast and move away from it below is a link of some big companies and explains more about the better jobs away from just being a driver...
