    What can can cause this oil leak? I blew turbo before Christmas, drove it home bob 100 miles with zero boost presure; last week i replaced turbo,air to air and DPF filter last, and i noticed this leak. Could this be caused by bad turbo installation, Engine,(piston rings?) Does Volvo D13 have some kind exhaust valve seal that could worn out and allow oil in exhaust, (I remember having this issue on my Detroit D60). O have 1.1 mil miles 2010

    I did the job at Volvo, it's a reman Holset Or something i asked for original, i've been told volvo doesn't supply original turbo anymore. Still 6000cad$, faulty part, what a garbage, I hope doesn't mess up my new Dpf again.

    It's oil, I use synthetic Rottela T6, 5w40 looks like diesel .The truck starts easy normal, sounds ok, good mpg, no smoke ; I'll take it tomorrow back to Windsor, On Volvo. I hope to make it, I'm in Springfield,IL ,500 miles away and icy roads ahead.
    On my last truck,780/2008/D13 I replaced the turbo once at 1.1 mil miles,( with original volvo turbo, but now they don't have it :( , reman only ) sold it with 1,830,000 miles , never had this isues.

    Did shaft break on last failure letting oil in exhaust? Or was just seizure on VGT sector shaft?

    Johny41 Thanks this.

    When the turbo blew, it put oil into the exhaust. Unless they flushed that oil out, it'll be there until it leaks out, burns off, or blows out.

    spsauerland and Johny41 Thank this.

    I was thinking about this, i cleaned the oil leaking on the frame twice, and drove 2500 miles since was replaced, should be dry by now.
    Could this remain turbo be defective? Or I have a more sinister problem?! OMG I hope not :) :(
    I purchased this used lemon, im going to paint it yellow and take it in the desert like Jesse James, and post on YouTube, maybe make.more $$ than driving it ;
