Ok bought a truck will be leasing on to an oilfield company here

Question is, I need a trailer but I'm not going to get plates and insurance on the truck until I lease on.

How would I go about traveling to get the trailer of my choice? Is there a temporary registration I can get? What if said trailer is out of state? What about running ELD, it is going to be issued by my lease company.

Do I wait until I get my truck leased to go get a trailer?

I'm in Louisiana and a perspective trailer is in the Florida pan handle

    Thanks

I would be more worried about insurance than plates.

These questions should be asked before the deal was sealed

Did you even make sure you got the right
Truck, that your going to destroy riding back
And forth on leased ( dirt) roads.

Are you gonna have any money left to fix the truck
After you smash it to pieces.

rabbiporkchop, Milr72 and Socal Xpress Thank this.

Not many dirt roads in what I will be doing. Hauling in south Louisiana from docks to shops.

Not oilfield as in out in the middle of a cow pasture Guess I should have been more specific. Mostly highway driving

Plates are cheap, insurance is the nut, should be covered in you're lease, if it were me, İ'd get it in stone before I purchased a trailer.

Most of our oilfield pipe comes in on ships. and goes to yards.
